Wrote a complaint to the Accor / Ibis Budget group. Never got a response. It was disappointing on such level that I seriously reconsider staying with this hotel group ever again.
First: We could only choose between a twin bed non-smoking room or a double bed smoking room. Weird welcome really, since I booked a double bed room (visiting as a couple) I should get a double bed room and the choice between smoking or non-smoking should be open. After all. It's what I booked.
Second: The room was not clean at all. Old does not mean filthy. It didn't meet (Ibis) hotel standards.
Third: A lot of noise came from the room next to ours, loud bass, loud music. We were leaving the hotel to go out so at that point we decided to let it go. But of course... When we came back at night we could already hear the music and the bass of our 'neighbour' thud in the hallways. At reception we asked the night porter to do something about it. He knocked a few times, got his master key, opened the door, shut down the music and told us there was no one there but they left the music on (?). Peculiar. When almost asleep this 'neighbour' comes back and turns the music on again, starts shouting in her phone while at it. We went downstairs to get the night porter because there was no way to get a hold of reception through telephone. He acted different: asked for the room number that was causing the disturbance and told us that he couldn't do much - it was a regular guest and they wanted her to stay a regular guest. He never came upstairs to tell her to shut the music off, he did nothing. We heard the music for hours following. Another room wasn't an option, they were fully booked.
I stay at a hotel to sleep but much sleep i didn't get. We drove home the next day completely beaten and at reception no one asked or said anything about it anymore. Very nice, keeping regulars, but if you prefer keeping regulars who cause incredible noise disturbance you will loose tons of costumers that come and go - like us.
Fourth: As i mentioned... I've gotten zero response from neither the hotel nor the hotel group while I did send them this complaint weeks ago.
